How to create a marketing plan

A marketing plan is a work in progress so don't be worried if your first plan is thin. Make some guesses and start planning.

1. Create an objective

Set objectives for your plan. Weather it is to increase revenue, increase retention, or obtain new customers. Make sure that each of your goals is measurable.

2. Know who your target audience is

Are they rich, poor, middle class? Are they moms, teenagers, or men? Find out what they need and want... Then find out where they go and how you can get their attention.

3. Listen to your customers

Establish a way to get feedback from your customers. Create a survey or customer feedback card. You can create a free survey and survey education from surveymonkey.com. React to your customer’s needs and wants.

4. Set a budget

Set a number that you can afford. You can market on any budget. The less you have the more creative you have to be. Make sure that you stay within your budget, disregarding your budget can become a dangerous habit.

5. Track your results

Ask customers how they heard of you and keep track of which marketing methods are the most profitable. If they heard of you from multiple sources make sure the record that.

Conclusion

Re-evaluate your plan every 3 months, loose the unprofitable ideas, make the good ideas better, and try new things.
